چکیده

In the self-stabilizing algorithmic paradigm for distributed computing each node has only a local view of the system, yet in a nite amount of time the system converges to a global state, satisfying some desired property. A function f : V (G) ! f0; 1; 2; : : : ; kg is a fkgdominating function if j2N[i]f(j) k for all i 2 V (G). In this paper we present self-stabilizing algorithms for nding a minimal fkg-dominating function in an arbitrary graph. Our rst algorithm covers the general case, where k is arbitrary. This algorithm requires an exponential number of moves, however we believe that its scheme is interesting on its own, because it can insure that when a node moves, its neighbors hold correct values in their variables. For the case that k = 2 we propose a linear time self-stabilizing algorithm.

A Synchronous Self-stabilizing Minimal Domination Protocol in an Arbitrary Network Graph

In this paper we propose a new self-stabilizing distributed algorithm for minimal domination protocol in an arbitrary network graph using the synchronous model; the proposed protocol is general in the sense that it can stabilize with every possible minimal dominating set of the graph.

Distance-two information in self-stabilizing algorithms

In the state-based self-stabilizing algorithmic paradigm for distributed computing, each node has only a local view of the system (seeing its neighbors’ states), yet in a finite amount of time the system converges to a global state satisfying some desired property. In this paper we introduce a general mechanism that allows a node to act only on correct distance-two knowledge, provided there are...

Developing Self-stabilizing Coloring Algorithms via Systematic Randomization

We consider the problem of designing uniform self-stabilizing distributed algorithms for coloring chains and oriented rings. We provide deterministic uniform self-stabilizing algorithms for some of the problems , and impossibility results for the other problems. For problems in the latter class, we present random-ized self-stabilizing algorithms. These results lead to a general method for obtai...

A Self-Stabilizing Distributed Algorithm for Minimal Total Domination in an Arbitrary System Grap

In a graph , a set is said to be total dominating if every is adjacent to some member of . When the graph represents a communication network, a total dominating set corresponds to a collection of servers having a certain desirable backup property, namely, that every server is adjacent to some other server. Selfstabilization, introduced by Dijkstra [1, 2], is the most inclusive approach to fault...

Self-Stabilizing Algorithms For Orderings And Colorings

A k-forward numbering of a graph is a labeling of the nodes with integers such that each node has less than k neighbors whose labels are equal or larger. Distributed algorithms that reach a legitimate state, starting from any illegitimate state, are called self-stabilizing. We obtain three self-stabilizing (s-s) algorithms for finding a k-forward numbering, provided one exists. One such algorit...
